A concise reference for how Price Blocks, Market Grids, picks, and settlement work.
What is PixelPoly?
A Block Prediction Market. Instead of asking whether an asset goes up or down, each market asks where the price will land at expiry.
Price Blocks
A Price Block is a predefined price range. Lower bounds are inclusive and upper bounds exclusive, so every price maps to exactly one block.
Market Grid
The complete set of Price Blocks for one market. Grids have five equal blocks anchored on the window's opening price.
Picking a Block
A pick is your selected Price Block plus a declared amount, signed by your wallet as an EIP-712 message. One pick per wallet per window.
Market Expiry
Markets run on fixed UTC windows (4H and 24H). At expiry the market stops accepting picks and the reference price is read once.
Landing Block
The Price Block containing the Landing Price. A Landing Price outside the grid lands in the nearest edge block.
Settlement
Picks in the Landing Block share the pool proportionally after a 2% protocol fee. Beta uses a public market API; oracle settlement is planned.
Risk
Prediction markets involve risk. You may lose your position amount. Review a market's rules before participating.
What is PixelPoly?
PixelPoly is a Block Prediction Market designed for on-chain settlement. Instead of asking whether an asset goes up or down, each market asks a sharper question: where will the price land at expiry?
A market takes a price range, splits it into equal Price Blocks, and lets participants pick the block they expect the Landing Price to fall into. When the window expires, the reference price is read once, the Landing Block is determined, and the market settles.

- A user's selected Price Block, together with the amount placed on it.

- The user who defines and creates a market.
Price Blocks
A Price Block is a predefined price range. Lower bounds are inclusive and upper bounds are exclusive. A Landing Price of exactly $76,000 in a grid with blocks $75–76K and $76–77K lands in the $76–77K block.
Market Grid
The Market Grid is the complete set of Price Blocks for one market. When a window opens, the grid is anchored on the opening price: five equal blocks whose width is a round step close to 1.5% of the price (2.5× wider for 24H windows). The block containing the opening price sits in the middle.
Time in block
The percentage on each block is the share of the window's price history that sat inside that block. It describes where the price has been, not the odds of where it will land.
Picking a Block
A pick is an EIP-712 typed message signed by your wallet on Robinhood Chain (4663): market window, block, declared amount, and a timestamp. The API verifies the signature against your address, checks the window is live, and records the pick. One pick per wallet per window. Signing moves no funds and never asks for token approvals.
During Beta, picks are stored off-chain and are the record the settlement contracts will honour when they launch.
Market Expiry
Markets run on fixed, UTC-aligned windows so every participant sees the same grid and the same expiry. A 4H market runs 00:00–04:00, 04:00–08:00 and so on; a 24H market runs one UTC day. BTC, ETH, and SOL each have a live 4H and 24H market at all times, plus the next 4H window (upcoming) and the previous one (settled).
Landing Block
The Landing Block is the Price Block containing the Landing Price. If the Landing Price falls outside the grid, the nearest edge block lands.
Settlement
Expiration → Reference Price → Landing Block → Settlement
Picks in the Landing Block share the settlement pool in proportion to their size after a 2% protocol fee. The estimate in the position panel uses the picks recorded so far and moves as more picks arrive.
Beta data source
Market prices shown during Beta are sourced from a public market API (currently CoinGecko), cached server-side and refreshed every 30 seconds in the browser. The Landing Price for a Beta window is the reading closest to the window's end.
Future settlement infrastructure
Oracle-based settlement is planned for production markets on Robinhood Chain, the network PixelPoly targets. The settlement contracts, market factory, and pick registry are not deployed yet; the current windows, grids, and signed picks are designed to map onto them.
Risk
Prediction markets involve risk. Picks in blocks that do not become the Landing Block are not returned under the pool model, so you may lose your position amount. $PXPL token
$PXPL has not launched. Its contract address will be published on pixelpoly.xyz first, on Robinhood Chain (chain 4663). Until then, any address claiming to be $PXPL is not official.
Beta status
Live: Market UI, UTC windows, grids, time-in-block, wallet connection, signed and verified picks. Beta: price feeds from a public market API. Coming next: on-chain settlement. Planned: permissionless market deployment.
